Sustainable Development

Many have attempted to define the concept of Sustainable Development, but the most widely quoted definition is that of the Brundtland Commission of the United Nations on March 20, 1987: “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

However, even if all come to agreement on employing this definition of sustainable development, actually achieving it on a global scale is a tremendous challenge. And perhaps it is due to the challenging nature of this concept that some say it is trite, and almost a cliché, to use the word "sustainable". However, In our foundation, we believe in sustainability, and under that guiding principle, we walk with each member towards that elusive goal. Until then, the technologies, the companies, and the society will receive positive change to flourish more lastingly on as we progress toward that ideal outcome, that truly sustainable development.
